Winter weather made it nearly impossible for people to observe the funeral of Ada Clark, so the United Methodist Church has scheduled a “Celebration of Life” in memory of Ada on Saturday, May 18, at 11:30 a.m. in the Methodist Fellowship Hall.

Linda McMulkin is a Master Gardener with vast experience with gardening in the Greenhorn Valley. She will continue a series of lessons on various aspects of gardening in our area and addressing challenges related to poor soil, drought, animals eating our plants, etc.

Jennifer Swartwood-Walker has won the 2024 American Legacy Book Award for Best Graphic Novel with her, The Ferrokin Origin series. The award went to Swartwood-Walker for her dedication to innovative storytelling and captivating narrative.

“Your state-winning team in meat evaluation, representing Colorado in the Nationals, is the Rye High FFA team.” This was an announcement the Rye FFA team was hoping for at the 2024 Colorado FFA Career Development Events (CDE) held at Lory Student Center at CSU - Fort Collins; and at the end of the week, that is the way it was.

The Rye High School Marching Band placed 3rd in the Canon City Blossom Parade on Saturday, May 4. The Thunderbolts’ score of 66.91 was a mere .2 points behind runner-up Rocky Ford.

One very fortunate golden eagle was in the right place at the right time to receive help and is now fortunate enough to be recovering from injuries at the Nature and Wildlife Discovery Rapture Center in Pueblo.

The El Pueblo History Museum Is offering a Hands-On History Camp from March 25 - 29. This interactive camp will give youngsters in grades 1-8 the chance to explore the fascinating history of how natural resources benefited our ancestors and influenced our way of life.
