Craver Middle School’s Journalism and Yearbook class recently took a field trip to the summit of Pikes Peak via the Cog Railway in Manitou Springs. The students researched both the history of Pikes Peak and the Cog Railway. They created a presentation of their field trip to showcase in their monthly newsletter, The Bolt Bulletin.

Most of the students had never been to Pikes Peak, nor had been on a train. The students enjoyed the trip and the beautiful views atop Pikes Peak. Craver principal Jody Pool and the students’ teacher, Ruth Moats chaperoned the trip.

A special thanks to Banquet Schuster’s Bakery in Pueblo for supporting the fundraising efforts of the class. Their generosity, along with donations from members at Greenhorn Valley Baptist Church, helped to make this amazing field trip possible for the students.
