According to the weather forecast, the temperature is supposed to top out at 69 degrees on Saturday, March 30. The warmer weather will translate into some mighty fine hunting for Easter eggs at the Hoppy Easter Egg Hunt and Bake Sale sponsored by Sangre de Cristo Volunteers for Community.

The event is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. and run until noon at the Greenhorn Meadows Park and Pavilion Area (courtesy of Colorado City Parks and Recreation Department).

In addition to the egg hunt for children third grade and under, their will also be games, crafts prizes and a bake sale.

The kids will be split into three groups to even out the contests and keep all the hunters happy: ages three and under, ages four to six, and ages seven to nine.

The event is free and rumor has it: you might even have a chance to get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Though this VFC sponsored community event is free, you will have to bring your own Easter basket.

If you have last minute questions you can send an email to vfc@ghvalley.net or call Judi Patrick at (719) 504-8018.

Otherwise, hop on over and enjoy a day out at the park.
