Christopher (Chris) Mark Lesser, 61, Colorado City, died on July 17th, 2023. He was a lifelong Colorado native, born in Denver, a devoted husband of over thirty years, father of five, and a man of God. He loved animals, cars, classic rock and working with his hands. Chris was highly intelligent earning a Mechanical Engineering degree from CU Denver and could repair or build nearly anything and solve complex problems with his near photographic memory for machinery and mechanical systems. These talents were passed along to his five children (and now two grandchildren). Chris could have a gruff exterior to anyone who didn't know him, but those who had the pleasure of knowing him knew he had an enormous soft side. Whether it was falling asleep in his chair with 'the dog he didn't want' or helping his children in the best way he knew how by fixing anything from cars to washing machines. With his generous spirit and big heart, Chris always lent a helping hand to those around him with whatever might be needed. He was passionate in his beliefs and never afraid to share his opinion on a multitude of topics.

Chris owned and operated two auto repair businesses in Pueblo, Brace Transmission (2006 to 2010) and Main Street Auto (2010 to 2014). He also held a patent for an innovative vertical lifting property gate system which he parlayed into a sales and installation business, even installing a unit at the home of a Super Bowl MVP.

As a parent, Chris was committed to teaching his children and being a pillar of support in their efforts to grow in their adult lives.

His eldest, Katelyn, garnered her love of home improvement projects from her father and was always thankful for his knowledgeable advice on her own building and renovation projects.

Jackson shares his father's gift of gab and enjoys talking about anything from Star Trek to politics.

Sarah inherited her dad’s gift of sharp wit and enjoyed asking him questions that he said she could have just googled.

Emma shares her dad's love of cooking, especially for her family, and was always excited to get his critique on a new dish.

Grace cultivated the creative spirit that he displayed in his leatherworking, woodworking and a variety of other media, by pursuing her own interests in art.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy, five children and two grandchildren: daughter Katelyn Posego (spouse, Nathan; children, Mason & Elise); son Jackson (spouse, Jessie); and daughters Sarah, Emma, and Grace. He is also survived by parents Sandra and Larry Lesser and Lee and Cheryl Groom, brother Matt (spouse, Stefani) Lesser, and nephews, Patrick and Nathan.
