Letter to the Editor:

“Residents of Colorado City are becoming more aware daily, of the serious, chronic issues with household and commercial water. The negative impact definitely threatens public health, property values and eatery business operations.

The problems with water quality and delivery system itself has only become worse over time.

Currently, the serious concerns have reached a level where public trust and confidence in leadership is being decreased. The community has exercised extreme patience in waiting for long term solutions with none yet in sight. At this time, disappointment, frustration and resolve are overriding excuses and patronization.

Periodic notifications that have been sent out over years saying satisfactory corrections have been made, after the fact will no longer satisfy growing public frustration. Standard responses given over years of time now ring hollow.

Locals have suffered through water restrictions while increased costs have been imposed. At this point, purchase of commercial bottled water for drinking and cooking is adding to household expenses. Daily bathing and hygiene have been modified because of health concerns.

In addition to inadequate, quality water delivery, the recent consideration of business land development brought to Colorado City Metro by a developer has drawn the unhappy attention of residents. That said, water quality and availability are priority to locals first before engaging with developers who make big promises about community benefits. That priority isn’t even close to being met. In reality even the slightest consideration is an insult to the community.

If and when expansion and development are seriously considered, the local residents must be included not patronized or apprised after the fact. Due diligence of who/why and the transparent detailed plan are non-negotiable. Preserving the country living that the majority in Colorado City enjoy cannot be auctioned off to benefit a few.

First things first mean the water solutions are top priority before anything else.”

A German member of the European Parliament, Christine Anderson, recently made a passionate summation of the Covid pandemic saying, “the true objective of the Covid so-called 'pandemic' was a balloon test conducted by unelected globalists to see how easy it would be to seize totalitarian control under the pretext of a global “emergency”. She went on to say, “ The goal, ultimately, is to transform our free and democratic societies into totalitarian societies and to strip each and every one of us of our fundamental rights of freedom, democracy, and the rule of law.” “ They want to get rid of all of this, covid never had anything to do with public health.” “In the entire history of mankind, there has never been political elite concerned about the well-being of regular people, and it isn't any different now.” “For God's sake, stop complying, speak-up, they are out to get you if you do not resist.”

Globalists hoping for renewed obedience have recently backtracked on employing “new” covid restrictions because of fierce public backlash. It was reported that mask mandates and contact tracing were really happening already at some college campuses and hospitals in the U.S. The core of the mask madness is an outright assault on freedom of expression and the God given right to breathe oxygen and expel carbon dioxide.

Hopefully people will continue to resist and not comply with Covid Authoritarians and lockdowns when the fear campaign ramps up. It looks like we are dealing with much worse than a Virus, and that’s Big Government trying to take over people’s lives.

Ken Gennetta Rye How does this work?

'Carlos Santana Enrages Liberals by Deleting Apology for Gender Identity Remarks' Is there a place on line liberals vote? How many votes does it take, x-number of libs? to make it so?

Or is it some 'leftist news person' who jumps in and prints said head line?

So more honestly should it say, you know truth in journalism, 'A liberal is enraged ...'

And frankly Scarlet, I could care less who is 'enraged” No person is born the right not to be offended.

Steve LaHue Colorado City Hello Neighbors,

For those who take pride in their property and our community in general, THANK YOU! My concern today is trash thrown from vehicles. If you haven’t helped pickup trash along your road, Hwy. 165, around public spaces or the visitor center you may not realize just how much trash people flagrantly litter our roadways with.

Ask a member of our local American Legion or VFC who pickup trash along Hwy. 165 at least annually, as to how much they pickup each time.

I picked up trash on (8/15/23) on both sides from our house on Cuerno Verde to the Visitor Center. I’m not boasting just the facts. Gal. 6:14. The Legion and VFC picked up trash along Hwy.

165, I believe, on May 23 or only 85 days ago. I’m sure I missed some trash for the grass has grown considerably since the state has mowed, but I picked up three orange trash bags full to include 53 hard liquor bottles of which most were the small ‘down it now size’, even more beer bottles and cans, a whole bunch of cigarette boxes, dirty rolled up diapers, many energy and soft drink cans, plastic bags, many plastic water bottles and about anything else you can imagine. I did find a real nice chalk marker box and a nice Buck knife in January!

The individual loser is the ‘Boston’ Peppermint Schnapps drinker. He’s quite the alcoholic.

Group losers are cigarette smokers who have thrown an unrealistic number of empty boxes onto our roadways. I’ve asked both local liquor stores to at least post a “please don’t throw your bottles out of your car sign” for I feel the many small bottles are no doubt coming from their stores. We’ll see if they attempt to help.

Littering is illegal according to C.R.S. 18-4-511 and comes with a fine. If anyone can positively identify someone throwing something out of their vehicle, let me know and I’ll help get them prosecuted, for they are not respecting our community and deserve to pay.
