Response to editor letters, August 31 RE: John Christenson on education: His response to possible new covid restrictions in schools was “A strong No, at this time”.

Another words for “at this time” would be not yet or just right now! I would have hoped for a stronger statement from Mr.

Christenson that might go something like; I will never vote to require our children to ever wear masks or be mandated again while on my watch. Mr. Christenson took a strong stance in the past to protect children and was against mandates imposed by the previous Board of Education, which got him elected.

Some children will never catch up from the last hoax.

RE: Water quality vs. Development in Colorado City.

CCMD Bureaucrats should spend more time sitting in traffic jams north of Colorado City to get a good feel for why they shouldn’t toy with the idea of development! Bureaucrats must not enjoy the little tranquility and serenity left? We are only 25 miles from shopping. The truth is the valley has already changed drastically and more growth will not improve Infrastructure, example: Colorado has One north and south bound Hwy in the State for 5.88 million residents.

Brown water is unhealthy no matter how you spin it. Losing trust and confidence in CCMD leadership is an understatement.

RE: The Colorado State Patrol desperately needs to get comprehensive training on how to manage accidents without shutting down the interstate. They seem oblivious to the havoc caused by closing I-25 on a regular basis?

RE: Trash on Hwy 165.

Thanks to the American Legion and VFC for picking up other people’s trash. God Bless You.

Trash is a natural byproduct of GROWTH and DEVELOPMENT. The other problem is an entitlement mentality that people have who litter. They had mommies who picked up after them their whole lives. It starts with educating the youth to be mindful. The Sherriff needs to impose stiff fines and not look away.

Ken Gennetta Rye, CO How does this work?

Recently a headline said “Carlos Santana Enrages Liberals by Deleting Apology for Gender Identity Remarks” Do the liberals get together and vote on whether they are enraged? How many votes does it take to become a headline? Is Gallup poling for a week to determine the facts here?

Or is it 1, supposed journalist, who decides to write this? If so, should it not say “…. Enrages a liberal.”? You know, good honest journalism.

I am really sick and tired of these unsupported by actual journalism, not fact journalistic writings. Maybe the headline is true, but how is it supported other than by one journalist’s opinion?
