Track Team Down to Final Regular Season Meet

The Rye High School track team split up last week with the majority of the team heading to the Cinco De Mayo Invitational at Walsenburg, while several went to the Pueblo Twilight Meet at Dutch Clark Stadium.

Rye Wins One of Three Hotly Contested Baseball Games

The Rye High School baseball team had three well played games last week but ended up on the wrong side of the scoreboard in two of those. On April 3 the Thunderbolts traveled to Monte Vista and in a hard fought, extra inning game, dropped a 11-8 decision.

Soccer Team Ends Season with a

The Rye High School girls’ soccer team finished with a pair of wins, but it ended up to be their final matches because they ended up ranked #21 but only the top 16 teams go to the playoffs. Head Coach John Crowell, indicated that next year they are talking about 32 teams making the playoffs but also indicated some skepticism if that would happen.

Soccer Team Enters Final Regular Season Matches

The girls soccer team split a pair of games last week, dropping a Wednesday contest to Fountain Valley, 4-1 and downing Pueblo Central 5-0 on Friday. Fountain Valley took a 3-0 lead at halftime on their home field.

Rye High School Hosts Invitational Track Meet

The Rye High School track team claimed eight medals at their own invitational when they hosted 25 teams on Friday the 19th. Isaiah Guzman claimed the gold medal with a triple jump of 42’ 10” to win the only individual gold of the day.

Rye Baseball Team Rolls to Three Wins

The Rye High School baseball team outscored a pair of opponents 47-3 last week and easily won three games to move their record to 5-3 and 2-1 in league play. On April 2, Rye hosted Florence and downed the visitors 17--2.
